On July 17, 2020, Benny and Pastor Nina Warr thanked all those who donated to Benny’s GoFundMe. Two weekends previous, the local Black Lives Matter movement raised Benny’s story as his wife spoke about the case before 5,000+ people in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park. A substantial amount of money was given to the Warrs.
Benny Warr was assaulted by three Rochester police department officers in 2013. No officer was held accountable for the brutality inflicted on Benny, and he was awarded no money in damages. For more on the incident and the case, visit the donation page.
